4 tips for being a better boss to your middle managers
If you’re supervising middle managers, you probably remember that being a middle manager can be very tricky. Heck, you may still be a middle manager yourself. Be mindful of the decision fatigue they are likely experiencing from all the unanticipated problems that arise daily.
They are enforcing company policies, not their own. Do the right thing and back them up by modeling those policies.
Acknowledge when things aren’t going well. Don’t avoid communications during bad times. It’ll just fall to your already pressed middle managers.
Give your middle managers some room to vent. They need somewhere to let things out.
